Still want more? Check out the following guide on transposing MIDI in Ableton. It is much easier to use a MIDI keyboard than your computer keyboard to play an instrument, and it means you use MIDI data to create the notes and any effects you want. You can easily access any VST instruments you have installed in Ableton by navigating to them in the interface and selecting the sound you want, which is where the fun starts. Once you have done this, you are ready to create as many MIDI clips for your MIDI tracks as you desire. You then enable it in Ableton Options > Preferences > Link Tempo MIDI. You connect a MIDI keyboard to your computer, usually via a USB cable, which generally provides power to the keyboard. From here, you can navigate to the Piano Roll at the bottom of the screen and edit any MIDI note as you require. To open the Piano Roll in Ableton, navigate to a MIDI track, and double-click the MIDI clip using the mouse. The copied MIDI displays where you placed your cursor. You can also highlight all MIDI notes in your clip by clicking and dragging the mouse to highlight all notes, or use CTRL + A (Win) or CMD + A (Mac) in the interface, press CTRL + C (Win), or CMD + C (Mac), place the cursor where the copied MIDI is to go, then press CTRL + V (Win) or CMD + V (Mac). In the Arrangement view, navigate to your MIDI track in the interface (as opposed to the Piano Roll view), highlight the MIDI clip, and click CTRL + D (Win) or CMD + D (Mac) to duplicate the clip. There are a couple of ways to copy and paste MIDI in Ableton. RELATED QUESTIONS: How Do I Copy and Paste MIDI in Ableton? You can also reactivate the clip by highlighting it in the interface, right-clicking the mouse and selecting Activate Clip from the drop-down menu, or highlighting the clip and pressing the 0 key again. It will play the next time you play your track through. It returns to its orange color, and the clip is now activated again.

Fire alarm activation, unless announced test. The hospital fire response plan should be enacted in situations of: When is the Hospital Fire Response Plan Used? Staff should be trained in each of these areas, and have their knowledge tested with regular but varied fire drills. What’s in a Hospital Fire Response Plan?Ī hospital fire response plan will include a general plan to move patients and staff to safety as well as specific information that is directly related to the facility structure, staff roles, and more.Įvery hospital should have a written fire response plan that includes when and how to sound and report fire alarms, how to contain smoke and fire, how to use a fire extinguisher, and how to evacuate areas of refuge. Practiced adherence to the fire response plan in the form of fire drills ensures staff are confident in the event of a fire and can remove patients from harm’s way and manage the situation effectively.ĭuring a fire drill, hospital staff must enact the fire response plan as if a real fire threat is present. Hospitals don’t require full evacuation due to the size and nature of the facility, as well as the safety of the patients and staff, but there are many other protocols that determine where patients, visitors, staff, and other occupants in hospitals are supposed to go - or not go - during a fire emergency. All drills and critiques must be documented. If possible, move resident charts with the resident. The Joint Commission Environment of Care standard EC.02.03.03 requires hospitals to conduct regular, varied fire drills, and to routinely evaluate the effectiveness of the procedure, fire safety equipment, building features, and staff response.Evacuate people closest to danger first, then ambulatory residents, followed by non-ambulatory residents, and lastly, critical residents on life support (because they are not in immediate danger and will need more time and care).Never use elevators to evacuate a fire area.It is important for staff to remember the following: It is crucial to ensure that all staff members are properly equipped with the right PPE to protect them from the dangers of a fire. The importance of Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE) for staff during a fire cannot be overstated. If there is continued danger from smoke or fire, they should next initiate a vertical evacuation by moving residents down the stairs to a lower level of safety and ultimately out of the building. To do this, they should first initiate a horizontal evacuation by moving residents down the corridor, through at least one set of fire doors to a safe area. Staff members should be prepared, so if there is danger from smoke or fire in their immediate work area, they should evacuate that smoke compartment. If the fire cannot be extinguished, staff should immediately leave, close-off the area, and let the fire department put it out. The rescuing of those in immediate danger, sounding the alarm, and confining fire and smoke should be concurrently accomplished by sufficient numbers of other staff members. Staff should attempt to extinguish only small, contained fires (no larger than a waste basket) where their safety is assured, they have an escape route behind them, and other staff members are available to assist. S – Sweep from side to side, covering the fire. P – Pull the pin in the nozzle of the extinguisher Ī – Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire Elderly people are especially susceptible to smoke inhalation, which is the primary killer in a fire.įortunately, all fire extinguishers operate in the same way, which can easily be remembered with another acronym: Rescuing residents is every healthcare worker’s primary concern, and it is always the first step because a fire can quickly escalate with lethal results. (R) Rescue – Remove residents and individuals in danger of immediate harm by assisting them from the room and closing the door. Let us discuss the acronym more in-depth: E – EXTINGUISH/EVACUATE: Try to extinguish the fire using appropriate firefighting equipment only if you are trained and it is safe to do so.C – CONFINE/CONTAIN: If practicable, close all doors and windows to contain the fire (only if it safe to do so).A – ALARM/ALERT: Pull the nearest alarm and/or call emergency numbers. If a fire occurred in a patient room, the staff should immediately remove the patient from the area. R – RESCUE/REMOVE: Remove everyone from the area. The health facility like any other facility is not exonerated from fire incidents, that is why a concrete fire emergency plan must be in place to fight fire or reduce it effects. It is an acronym that hospital personnel use mostly to remember their duties in case of fire. The Silver Centurion is referenced in all three Iron Man films:.While Stark commonly evaded this predicament by leaving control of his intellectual property to Reed Richards, Reed had gone missing for a prolongued period of time when Stark became incapacitated. The rights to the schematics of this armor are being contested by Damage Control after Tony Stark fell into a coma since the company also operates as an archival unit for metahuman technology that belongs to missing, incapacitated or deceased individuals.Negator packs neutralized and destroyed stolen Stark technology.Electromagnetic sensors could determine layouts of structures and identify stolen Stark technology.Due to harmful interference with his nervous system, Stark limited its use. The "chameleon effect" generated a hologram to make the armor blend in with its surroundings.Life support equipment was considerably enhanced: recycled air, water and nutrients could last an indefinite amount of time.An absorption grid could be used to absorb energy from various sources.Refractory coating blunted lasers and other energy attacks.A 'six-second' force-field greatly enhanced protection for a short time, but consumed considerable power. The sonic distorter could also be to disrupt opponents. A disruptor field was used against electrical systems.Other weapons included a heat lance, cutting lasers, an electric shock, variator rays, and a tractor beam.Pulse bolts gained energy as they traveled up to a certain point. Repulsors and the uni-beam were enhanced.Individual armor parts stored a small emergency charge.A separate booster pack could also be used. Flight was improved with new turbines for the boot jets. The armor had large gauntlets that conceilved blades that could be heated to melt other metals with a touch. It was more inline with Tony Stark's usual armor with silver paint rather than his customary gold. In Earth-TRN840, the Silver Centurion Armor was sleaker than its Earth-616 counterpart. It's the latest Tony Stark's high-tech creation - a suit of repulsor-powered battle armor, online and ready to rumble! then transferred itself into a model of this armor. Although the armor that the suit was using initially was destroyed, the A.I. When Tony Stark undertook Stark Resilient, he dismantled and melted one version of this armor.Īfter Tony underwent a moral inversion, Pepper activated an artificial back-up Tony had made of his mind in the event of him ever being compromised in this kind of manner. Tony used another version of this armor when he was facing the Mandarin's attempt to unleash Extremis on a large scale, as his Extremis abilities- and thus his access to his more modern suits- had been shut down for a week out of concerns for his mental health. Stark used this opportunity to fake the death of the Iron Man who had apparently gone renegade and attacked the other armor wearers by sending it out on remote with various blood packs inside it, allowing him to claim that a new Iron Man wore the suit later.Ī replica of the armor was later used by Mike O'Brien to face Ultimo. It was used extensively against other armor users during the first Armor Wars until being destroyed with one of Firepower's powerful heat-seeking missiles. The armor prevailed against the Iron Monger's armor and Stark kept the design for many months. While he intended the armor to be used by James Rhodes, Stark ended up donning it himself to gain revenge against Obadiah Stane. The iMac is not fanless like the MacBook Air, but I never heard them make any noise, but you might if you’re doing more demanding work than me. Everything in day-to-day use happens instantly with waking the iMac up and opening apps noticeably immediate. I tested the more powerful option and it’s as quick as you’d expect. My advice is to make sure the entry-level has enough storage space and ports for your needs, and if you’re confused about things like the amount of GPU cores then you’re unlikely to need the more powerful model. It’s unnecessarily confusing, especially for a colourful, fun iMac that comes across as being approachable for everyone. Tune the settingsīitmap tracing can be done with a few variables. Find your tracing tool with the PNG selected. This will trace over every color and shade variation in your PNG, defining the vector shapes that make up the image. Our smart tracing tool is called PowerTRACE. Select the Bitmap Tracing or Vectorization featureīitmap tracing is the method used by vector editing programs like CorelDRAW. You can do this with a photo editor or with a smart select and delete tool. If your PNG has a background that you don't want included, be sure to remove it. Center your PNG in the editor and be sure the image is selected before seeking your vectorization tool. Grab your PNG and upload it into your graphics program. It's best to choose an advanced graphic design program, like CorelDRAW, that is capable of SVG editing and exporting. There are online tools for this, but generally the quality of your output vector will depend on the quality of your tool. The first step is to find a program capable of vectorization. How to convert PNG to SVG Choose your vector-capable image software Converting a PNG to an SVG will make it load faster and scale more smoothly both larger and smaller without losing detail. You may need lightweight and scalable assets for your websites and programs. You can also salvage low-quality PNG images or quickly grab a complex outline by vectorizing the shapes. If you are working on an SVG project, PNG assets can be added smoothly by vectorizing the image. SVGs are perfectly scalable, both as individual SVG assets or exported back to bitmap graphic types like PNG and JPG. Why vectorized an image? For a graphic artist, there are many advantages to turning your PNG images into vector graphics. Because this is such a drastic change in rendering technology, the quality of the vectorized graphic depends on the quality of the tool you use and the number of scans your take. These shapes reform the image in both layered effects and independent form. To vectorize an image is to convert the colors and shapes in the image into shaded vector-shapes of the vector graphic. This is why vector graphics are both smooth and tend to look a little less textured than the detail-fuzz created by pixels. Each shape has one color, shade, and transparency unless a filter is applied. Vector graphics are shapes build with vectors - anchor points and angles. To understand the conversion, let's talk about what an SVG really is. You will need to convert the raster image into a vector graphic, a process known as vectorization. You can't just save a PNG into an SVG file like when swapping between JPG and PNG. Converting any image into an SVG is not like a normal file conversion. However, it's unclear why the downed helicopter in episode 2 is painted in Iron Man's signature red and yellow. Or as Vision puts it, "My wife and her flying saucers!" , WandaVision could take a turn for the extraterrestrial. Given the presence of Geraldine, reported to be a grown-up version of the young Monica Rambeau seen encountering aliens in There's an organization called SWORD in the comics that complements SHIELD's Earthbound activities by taking care of extraterrestrial threats. Whatever's happening to Wanda and the Vision, the people observing use a logo depicting a sword in a circle. Or maybe it's not so literal - the beekeeper could be another reference to being enclosed and observed in a constructed space. On screen, AIM was the main threat in Iron Man 3. Comics fans may see a similarity to the helmeted uniforms worn by underlings of the evil Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM), a cabal of rogue scientists and offshoot of Hydra. Marvel The beekeeperĪt the climax of episode 2, Wanda and Vision are startled by a manhole cover sliding back and a shadowy beekeeper climbing out. That four-pronged shape in the middle may be a reference to a comics villain. That means house of contempt or scorn, but more importantly harks back to the pivotal House of M comics storyline in which a traumatized Wanda reshaped the whole of reality into a new world ruled by her family. When Wanda magically saves dinner, the wine she pours is a fine drop of Maison du Mépris. Speaking of the magic show disrupted by Vision's gum, the couple adopt the names "Glamor and Illusion." In the comics, Vision and Scarlet Witch were friends with a married magic act called Glamor and Illusion who also secretly used superpowers to pull off their tricks. Whether that's merely a goofy code name or something more important is something for you to chew over. The brand of gum that gums up Vision's works is Big Red, which was also the working title of the show when it was filmed in Atlanta in 2019. Oh, and does the line "Get her out of my heart" tie in with the presence of the Harts in episode 1? Big red But why is someone asking, "Who's doing this to you, Wanda?" And of course, Rhonda is easily misheard for Wanda. Along with hairstyle and costume changes it's one of the subtle signs the show has advanced from the 1950s in episode 1 to a pastiche of the '60s in episode 2. Or it's just funny.īy episode 2 the song we hear in a crucial moment is 1965 hit Help Me, Rhonda by the Beach Boys. Which might make you wonder about Kathryn Hahn's fabulous neighbor who happens to be named Agnes.Īnd the significance of Old McDonald? With his moo moos and baa baas, Vision again plays the role of characters who are enclosed against their will. Another sign mentions Aunty A's Kitty Litter, which is surely a reference to another member of the comic's supporting cast, the ancient witch Agatha Harkness and her cat-like familiar named Ebony. The store advertises Bova Milk, a reference to the super-evolved cow who served as midwife at Wanda's birth (comics!). Speaking of ads, look out for the supermarket signs in episode 2's animated opening credits. Could they be Wanda's parents? The supermarket signs If these are references to Wanda's origins, then the ads may represent Wanda's memories, even though the toaster ad warns, "Forget your past, this is your future." In which case, it may mean something that the same woman and man show up in both ads. The ad's tagline "He'll make time for you" implies a continued role for Strucker despite his death at Ultron's hands, and it might tie into the show's televisual themes if he was seen again on a TV screen like fellow Hydra scientist Arnim Zola in The biggest feature that came with the recent Cura update. All advanced settings are grouped in the additional tabs, and slicing the model looks very straightforward. Preparing a modelĪt the first glance, the software has a beginner-friendly user interface. Other vendors ship their printers with the Cura profiles included on a USB or an SD cards. Some 3D printer brand companies use the open source base to create their own, based on Cura, slicers, for example, Elegoo Cura. As it became available for free relatively early in the last decade, and it stayed to be the best free choice for a long time. Ultimaker’s Cura is the most popular slicer software. If the machine is not found, it is possible to build a Custom Printer profile. When launching Configuration Wizard on PrusaSlicer, there is a list of Other Vendors where you can find such brands as Creality, Snapmaker, or Anycubic, for example. We printed some models and wrote about this technique in detail in our dedicated article. For example, it is possible to assign a color in the preview – this allows to check the result ahead of printing the model and helps to pick the right color. Initially, this feature was available via browser, but when PrusaSlicer became more advanced, the color-changing feature was made much clearer and user-friendlier. This is a feature that allows assigning a layer on which the machine will pause for the filament change. This is the slicer that prepares G-codes for the Original Prusa MMU (Multi Material Upgrade). Not many 3D printer manufacturers tried such an ambitious project as multi-material 3D printing on FDM 3D printers. Among those are: Custom supports, MSLA/Resin, Multi-Material, Auto-updating profiles, Smooth variable layer height, Firmware flasher, Color change, Send G-code over the network, Paint-on seam, Built-in 3rd party profiles, Print time/feature analysis, etc. On the download page, you can find a list of unique and new features. If someone decides to test the limits of their machines, then PrusaSlicer is one of the first choices to go for. In the past few years, this software has been regularly updated with the new features. While paid software, like Simplif圓D, clearly dominated in the last decade thanks to its functionalities, stability, and quality, then today free software are equally good and enough for the majority of tasks.Ī free, quick, and open-source PrusaSlicer keeps winning the hearts of the 3D printing community. Based on that, we would definitely recommend mastering a software that allows setting up the 3rd party printer profiles. There are two reasons why such custom profiles are in demand: 1) users get familiar with their favorite software and want to stay on it even with a different brand machine 2) users want a feature that is not included with the software provided/recommended. The popular slicer software usually has an ability to create profiles for the 3rd party 3D printers, even those not listed in the pre-set selection. But it will be a waste of an opportunity not to dig in further and not to learn more about the advanced settings or not to try some of the sophisticated features. When using such software for 3D printing a basic non-challenging model, an operator needs to do nothing apart from pressing the button to slice the model and save the file as G-code. There are slicers that help to make 3D printing experience beginner-friendly with some basic straight-to-action functionalities. Plainly speaking, slicers tell 3D printers what to do. This is done by setting a lot of parameters, such as the nozzle movement coordinates, temperature, speed, flow rate, etc. A lot of features were contributed via GitHub by its community and various manufacturers’ R&D teams.Ī slicer, or slicing software, in 3D printing configures the files, commonly STL, to the format that 3D printers can read, G-Codes. Thanks to the open-source movement, such slicers benefit from new features very quickly, but at the same time, it is difficult for us to give credit to the developers. It is estimated over 1,100 were killed in its first use at Ypres. Chlorine was deadly against unprotected soldiers. At lower concentrations, if it does not reach the lungs, per se, it can cause coughing, vomiting, and eye irritation. It can react with water in the lungs to form hydrochloric acid, which is destructive of tissue and can quickly lead to death, or, at least, permanent lung tissue damage and disability. Chlorine is a diatomic gas, about two and a half times denser than air, pale green in color and with an odor which was described as a ‘mix of pineapple and pepper’. The German gas warfare program was headed by Fritz Haber (1868 – 1934) whose first try for a weapon was chlorine, which he debuted at Ypres in April 1915. Thus, tear gas was never very effective as a weapon against groups of enemy soldiers. Symptoms usually resolve by 30 minutes after contact. If inhaled they also make breathing difficult. Large doses can cause temporary blindness. As lachrymatory agents, they irritate the eyes and cause uncontrolled tearing. The agent used was either xylyl bromide, which is described as smelling ‘pleasant and aromatic’, or ethyl bromoacetate, described as ‘fruity and pungent.’ Both are colorless liquids and have to be atomized to be dispersed as weapons. Several chemicals were weaponized in WWI and France actually was the first to use gas - they deployed tear gas in August 1914. Masked soldiers charge through a cloud of gas. Production of some of these dangerous chemicals continues to this day as they have peaceful uses – for example, phosgene (carbonyl dichloride) is an industrial reagent, a precursor of pharmaceuticals and other important organic compounds. It has occasionally been used since then but never in WWI quantities. Thus, chemical warfare with gases was subsequently absolutely prohibited by the Geneva Protocol of 1925. Although chemical warfare caused less than 1% of the total deaths in this war, the ‘psy-war’ or fear factor was formidable. One of the enduring hallmarks of WWI was the large-scale use of chemical weapons, commonly called, simply, ‘gas’. While the efficiency of maiming and killing steadily advanced from the 17th to the 20th centuries it accelerated by an order of magnitude in WWI with the use of inhaled poison gasses. Ultimately, in WWII it was demonstrated that a single atomic weapon could kill more than one hundred thousand of the enemy with a single use of a single weapon. Gun powder in the 16th and 17th centuries meant that - finally, sadly - one could eliminate many of his enemies with one agent of offensive effort, an artillery round. Army Veteran, and WW-I Feature WriterĮvery war brings to the fore a new way of maiming and killing soldiers. |
